Excellent accommodation, friendly staff, spectacular designs,
warm hospitality & unique locations are ensuring
that African game lodges are making a great name for themselves. We
define a game lodge as any destination where you stay with the purpose
of seeing wildlife.
Without wanting to fall into the ‘package’ category, Kumuka
recognises that some people are looking for a little more of the creature
comforts whilst on holiday, without sacrificing their need to explore.
For those not looking to pitch their tent at night after a hard days
game drive, and who want the daily chores to be arranged for them, lodge
based tours offer a comfortable alternative to camping. With this in
mind, we are delighted to introduce our collection of lodged based tours,
for those wishing to combine magnificent game viewing with a
touch of luxury at an affordable price. Experience the African
bush with the comforts of idyllic, secluded lodges carefully chosen
for their design, harmony with the environment, service and cuisine.

We have created individual safaris combining the thrills of wildlife
viewing with the best environmental and cultural attractions of East
and Southern Africa, whilst enjoying the comfort of unique 3-4
star lodge accommodation. All prices are based on twin share.
In more remote areas we use rustic guesthouses or mobile safari tents,
which represent the best accommodation available locally.
Kumuka’s East Africa lodge based tours take
you through the wonders of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania, which
claim some of the world’s most scenic and dramatic National Parks.
View the most coveted game in the Masai Mara, relax on the exotic beaches
of Zanzibar and Mombasa or watch a sea of pink flamingos on Lake Nakuru.
Experience the thrill of a gorilla trek and visit the unforgettable
Serengeti National Park, Lake Naivasha, the Ngorongoro Crater and the
Great Rift Valley.
In Southern Africa we offer a range of spectacular
lodge based tours to South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Enjoy excellent
cuisine and accommodation along the Garden Route or in the beautiful
cities of Cape Town and Durban. Visit in comfort the watery wilderness
of Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta and see for yourself the vastness
of the Kalahari and Namib Deserts. Experience the majestic elephant
herds along the banks of the Chobe River and spot game in Etosha and
Kruger National Parks. There are also opportunities to meet the locals
on our Damaraland and Swaziland cultural visits. You will be captivated
by the diversity of the African landscape and always led by experienced
and professional guides in private, comfortable transportation.

A little bit of extra comfort with Kumuka
The lodges used have been individually designed to compliment
their environment and are usually situated in unique and remote
locations, providing you with opportunities to experience Africa at
its best. Many are within National Parks, where listening to the sounds
of the wild at night is not to be forgotten. After busy days on game
drives, relax by the pool (some lodges) or enjoy sundowners on the decking
amid the raw splendour of the surrounding bush. The style of the lodges
reflects their backdrop, with traditional African themes and furnishings,
cultural influences and open-plan architectural design. Lodges vary
depending on country and location, however, typical features include
swimming pools, excellent standards of accommodation with full en-suite
facilities, private grounds and full time staff in attendance.
Dining is given great importance within our lodges, with menus
drawing from classical African, European & Asian origins,
mixed with modern themes & influences. Produce, where possible,
is sourced locally from the rich farmlands nearby, continuing our support
& commitment to local communities.
African Lodge tours carry a maximum of 10 clients only,
and by utilising smaller safari vehicles you are ensured of a more personal,
comfortable and stylish tour experience.
Explore the unrivalled beauty of Africa, where adventure awaits and
where, for our more discerning passengers, the world’s greatest
wildlife spectacles can now be experienced in greater comfort.
Please Note: For single travellers - a single supplement
applies to these tours if we are unable to match you with another passenger
of the same sex, or if you wish to be allocated your own room. The single
supplement is payable immediately and taken in your local currency,
but will be refunded if we are able to pair you with another passenger
at a later date.
