25th April, the date that Australians and New Zealanders mark as their annual Remembrance Day of the battle at Gallipoli, is a time to remember and pay tribute to the heroes of the battle.
Every year there is a Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass, followed by a Gunfire Breakfast at the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum, and a Memorial Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Kanchanaburi Allied War Cemetery, all of which we attend.
Not only does this short 4-day trip allow you to join in the Anzac Day events, but you also spend 2 nights on a Floating Jungle Lodge, with opportunities to ride elephants and bamboo rafts. There is time to walk along part of the Hellfire Pass railway line, and explore Kanchanburi, famous for the Bridge over the River Kwai.
