Kumuka operates Small Group Tours across Central America, from Mexico through Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, as well as within Costa Rica. Tours offer a range of accommodation and transport styles and guided visits of sights such as Palenque Ruins, Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza, Tikal and Barton Creek Caves are included in the tour price. Also included are domestic flights, daily breakfasts and other selected meals. We use Local Guides on these tours for their wealth of local knowledge and to give you a real insight into the areas you are travelling through.
Then there are obvious pluses, such as having everything
organised for you and having your accommodation and travel prepaid.
Enjoy that feeling of being on holiday rather than it being hard work!
Kumuka removes those drab and dull errands that you have to run, like
spending hours queuing at the bus station only to discover all the tickets
are sold out - especially important for those who only have limited
time at their disposal! Let us deal with all the niggling and time consuming
problems, leaving you free to unwind and enjoy your time to the max!

Accommodation

On our new range of Small Group Tours, accommodation is hotel-based. on a twin share, same-gender basis. We use mainly 3-4 star hotels, with en-suite rooms although there may be the occasional cabin or lodge.
We choose good quality, three to four star hotels for our tours, such as the Hotel Parador & Spa in Manuel Antonio, Hotel Hacienda La Noria in Oaxaca and Hotel Colonial in Puebla. Hotels are usually centrally located, close to main tourist areas, and offer a range of amenities including private bathrooms.

Transport

Kumuka travels through Central America mainly by private vehicle such as minibuses, but there are also some boat and ferry trips as well as the occasional domestic flight included.
Minibus:
We use minibuses rather than local buses. We are not limited to major cities as these small, light vehicles are more manoeuvrable and flexible enabling us to take you to more remote, less visited areas. The minibuses are usually air-conditioned unless we are travelling in cooler areas.
Plane: On internal flights we use domestic airlines to reduce travelling time, which gives us more time at destinations to maximise sightseeing.

Luggage
We recommend that you take a backpack or a comfortable hold-all, as
well as a day pack for essentials. Remember that you will be responsible
for carrying this, as well as loading it onto the roof of a bus or perhaps
walking a few blocks through town with it. So be sure that your are
comfortable with the weight and size.
