Jungle Trips
Any Kumuka overland or local transport tour that travels
to Ecuador will feature this 3 day trek into the Amazon Jungle. This
is INCLUDED in the cost of the tour.
From Otavalo we journey into the Ecuadorian Amazon
Jungle, travelling through the Andes and down into the Amazon Basin
to the remote jungle town of Coca. Here, you’re at the gateway
of the Ecuadorian Amazon where we travel up the River Napo to our lodges,
which will be our base for exploring the jungle vegetation and searching
for the local wildlife.
The terrain is rich and lush, and alive with hundreds
of species of plant and trees and our local guides will inform you of
their many medicinal uses, which are still practiced by the locals.
As well as hikes through the jungle you will also
have the opportunity to swim in the lagoons, fish for piranha, spot
wildlife; including early morning bird watching, caiman hunting in the
evenings, and looking for pink river dolphins in the lagoons.
