Introduction: Explore the coastal region of Togo and Benin and gain an insight into the mysterious and little understood spirit of Voodoo. We visit a sea turtle conservation program, and spend a night in one of Africa’s largest lake villages. As Ghana was once known as the Gold Coast, this area was known as the Slave Coast and there are many sobering reminders and monuments to visit to gain a better appreciation of this dark period in human history.
