Derek Stephen says:

Sorry for not writing sooner but I've been a bit busy on my return from Vietnam.  As you know myself, Brother Melvyn and friend Colin McCallum all went on the Cycling Trip through Vietnam.

Speaking for us all I can safely tell you that we had a fantastic time made all the better by Din the Vietnam guide who works for Buffalo Tours. He was excellent, humorous, knowledgeable, and knew exactly what was required for our type of group. I can now tell anyone about the history and geography of Vietnam from the north to the south. We saw a lot of Temples etc, not usually my ''bag'' but it had to be done to get a feel for the country, and what a beautiful country, not just the terrain but the people as well. You will mostly want to know about your side of things. Well everything went perfectly from being met by the transport guys who were always bang on time when required, the hotels were perfect for us, the restaurants were what was required and the cycling was, for me anyway, just the right amount and level of challenge.  I have got three daughters and am suggesting to them to go on this trip soon with there friends.

Kind Regards    Derek Stephen

Introduction: Travelling by bicycle along the length of Vietnam on this adventurous and rewarding tour, you become part of the scene rather than an onlooker, seeing Vietnam as the Vietnamese see their country. The itinerary takes you from north to south, covering many of the major attractions along the way. Our tour starts in the capital Hanoi, with its tree lined boulevards and lakes, and then continues to Halong Bay where we overnight on a traditional junk, cruising the thousands of limestone islets. The Reunification Express takes us to the former Imperial capital, Hue, situated on the Perfume River, and here we are introduced to our bicycles. We also visit the picturesque fishing village and old trading port of Hoi An, the Central Highlands area of Dalat and the sandy beaches of Nha Trang, before ending our tour in the vibrant metropolis of Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City where we visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. The scenery along the way is spectacular, and travelling by bicycle gives you the chance to meet a multitude of people.
