Peter is an incredibly knowledgeable tour leader, much like a walking African encyclopaedia! There was not a question he could not answer and was very friendly and helpful throughout the tour. Tedius is a lovely, friendly and kind man who did everything he could to get our safely through the often, very long days on the truck. He is an excellent driver and person. Both men went out of their way to ensure our every need and want were met; often above and beyond what should reasonably be expected of someone in their position. Please commend Peter Phiri and Tedius Ngwenya for their friendliness, sense of humour and fun, support and assistance throughout the duration of our tour. We absolutely adored them both and they had some difficult personalities to contend with, within the group - which they handled with utmost professionalism.
Zimbabwe - all of it. Especially white water rafting, elephant ride and Zambezi wine drift! Zambia - Cheetah interaction was incredible, well worth the money. Lion walk was also great. Serengeti - hot air balloon was great; although we did not get to see any animals! Visits to the local villages, orphanages and schools was very informative. Peter and Ted were a fantastic combination of tour guide and driver. I could not have survived 42 days (camping!) in Africa without these two men; their friendliness, sense of humour and fun as well as their unwavering tolerance for our naivety and endless questions made for an unforgettable adventure. I can not recommend touring Africa overland highly enough; especially with Peter and Ted! Thank you both.
